I've figured it out: the trick is to use the menu item "Build for run configuration..." and assign that the Command+B keystroke.

Unfortunately with Qt Creator, I haven't found a solution. I tried reinstalling Qt completely. Nothing has changed. I hope we find a solution or maybe an update resolves this.

…and on a side note: Qt 5.15 isn’t ideal to start developing a new app! Much better to start with 6.5!

@hskoglund Yes. I also have MinGW installed separately on my computer so I could try quickly making another kit with those and see if it works.

Edit: Changing the version of MinGW in the kit worked! I tried using regular MinGW 64-bit and that made it work perfectly. Thanks so much

I never was able to reproduce the bug. Ctrl+Alt+M always worked.

But you are not the first person that has the issue, would be great if you would paste in the bug report the content from Help > System Information....

In order to fix this issue, you have two options:

Press Ctrl+Shift+K and select the Show menu bar action. Go to "%appdata%\QtProject\QtCreator.ini" and delete the MenubarVisible=false entry

You could use CMakePresets.json file to specify a CMake Preset Kit.

Qt Creator would then use the information from the CMakePresets.json file and create a kit for you.

Something like:

I had the same problem.
Try these steps:

Delete the %APPDATA%/QtProject folder. You may want to make a backup copy first, as all your QtCreator settings will be reset. If step 1 does not help, try reinstalling the MSVC compiler and CDB debugger (installed separately using Debugging Tools for Windows).
I didn’t look into the problem in more detail, it seems like something happened to the debugger configuration.

It's coming back to me. I once had the same problem with an IMU sensor that I could not solve under windows.

But once under linux with the same code, I receive the data perfectly.

Same thing, I just tested under linux for the GPS, I receive the data but not under Windows.

To this day I don't know where the problem comes from

Is the code pasted now currently what you have, exactly? What error do you currently have? Have you acted on the previous comments?

For example: although it won't generate a compilation error, it does not make any sense to set up all these boxes or arrays in the main window destructor, does it? Why not in, say, the constructor instead?
